The SECO 00059716 is a solid carbide indexable drill insert in the SCGX15P1 configuration, manufactured to the T250D grade for use in Perfomax series indexable drills. The insert features a square shape with a 90-degree included angle, a 7-degree relief angle, and a micrograin carbide substrate coated with TiAlN via PVD process. The inscribed circle measures 0.625 inches (15.88 mm), thickness is 0.219 inches, and the corner radius is 0.047 inches (1.20 mm). The P1 chipbreaker geometry and universal material grade designation make this insert suitable across a broad range of workpiece materials. Licensed HVAC technicians install control components, while machining professionals select and install this insert type.
This insert is designed for use in Perfomax series indexable drill bodies that accept SCGX-style inserts at the 15 mm insert size code. It carries a universal primary workpiece material rating covering material codes H, M, N, P, and S, meaning it performs across hardened materials, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, steels, and heat-resistant superalloys. Typical applications include through-hole and blind-hole drilling operations on CNC machining centers and turning centers in production environments. Sold individually per package with a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces.

Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist following the drill body manufacturer torque and seating procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket for chips, debris, or wear before installing a new insert, as a damaged pocket will affect hole quality and insert life. Follow the drill body manufacturer guidelines for insert orientation and coolant setup prior to resuming cutting operations.
