The SECO 00052323 is a round milling insert in the RDHT-06 series, designed for face milling and profiling operations on CNC machining centers. Built from fine grain solid carbide and coated with TiAlN and TiN via a PVD process, this insert delivers thermal resistance and edge toughness in demanding cutting applications. The F40M grade is engineered for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Key cutting geometry includes a positive rake angle of 18 degrees, a 15-degree relief angle, and a honed cutting edge style that reduces micro-chipping at the edge. The insert is single-sided with 4 cutting edges and uses a screw-mount holding method.
This insert is suited for milling steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium in both roughing and semi-finishing applications. The E02 chip breaker geometry supports consistent chip evacuation across a range of feed rates and depths. Compatible cutter series include R217.29-03 and R220.29-03, making this insert appropriate for production environments where consistent tool life and surface finish are required. It is installed by machining professionals in shop and manufacturing settings.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machining professional with the spindle fully stopped and machine in a locked-out, tagged-out state per applicable safety procedures. Seat the insert fully in the pocket before torquing the clamping screw; refer to the cutter body manufacturer documentation for the correct torque value. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before each insert change. Do not mix new and used inserts in the same cutter body, as height variation affects surface finish and tool balance.
