The SECO 00050066 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert with a 35-degree diamond (rhombic) shape designed for finishing and light machining operations. Carrying ANSI code VNGP330.5 and ISO code VNGP160402, it features a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 0.0079-inch corner radius, and a sharp cutting edge style with negative rake and negative side clearance. The insert belongs to the VNGP-M1 series, grade 883, and is engineered for high wear resistance to high toughness applications. With four cutting edges and neutral hand orientation, it is suited for turning, back turning, facing, and profiling on CNC lathes and turning centers. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working with difficult materials install this insert in compatible toolholders.
This insert is primarily intended for superalloys and titanium workpiece materials (ISO code S), with secondary applicability to stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous materials, and hardened materials (ISO codes M, K, N, H). Material grades S10, S20, and S30 indicate its range from finishing through semi-finishing in high-performance machining environments. The M1 chip breaker geometry optimizes chip control during finishing and light cuts. It is a multi-use insert supporting back turning, facing, profiling, and turning operations across a depth-of-cut range up to 0.6220 inches. The insert conforms to both ANSI and ISO dimensional standards, making it compatible with a wide range of ANSI- and ISO-standard VNGP-style toolholders.

Use the correct torque tool for the specified holding method (clamp, pin, or lever lock) per the toolholder manufacturer guidelines. Inspect the toolholder pocket for wear or debris before seating the insert, and never force an insert into a damaged pocket.
