The 16ER insert style seats in compatible laydown toolholders and cuts right-hand external threads per the Acme thread standard with a 29-degree included angle. With an inscribed circle of 0.375 inches and a thickness of 0.1366 inches, this insert suits production and maintenance threading operations performed by machinists and toolroom technicians.
This insert is suited for external Acme thread generation on lathes and CNC turning centers. The Acme thread form is commonly found on lead screws, vises, linear actuators, and power-transmission components in industrial and machinery applications. The CP500 grade with universal material compatibility rating makes it appropriate for use on cast iron, steel alloys, non-ferrous metals, and certain high-temperature alloys.
