The SECO 00045653 is a solid carbide multi-directional turning insert in the MDT series, engineered for precision turning and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to Manufacturer Grade 883 with a C2 material grade, this insert features a neutral hand orientation and an LCMR insert style. The cutting width measures 0.157 inches, the cutting height measures 0.177 inches, and the corner radius is 0.031 inches. The MT chipbreaker geometry promotes controlled chip evacuation during medium-duty turning passes. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible toolholders for multi-directional turning applications across a range of workpiece materials.
This insert is suited for use on ferrous metals, non-ferrous materials, high-temperature alloys, and stainless steel, corresponding to primary workpiece material codes H, M, N, and S. The MDT series is designed for multi-directional turning operations including turning, profiling, and light grooving in both production shop and job shop environments. The single-end configuration and 7-degree relief angle support clean entry and exit cuts. The uncoated solid carbide construction is appropriate for applications where coating is not required or where sharp edge retention is the priority.
