The SECO 00043212 is a right-hand MTFN indexable boring bar designed for internal turning operations on lathes and turning centers. Built from steel, it accepts TNMG 332 triangle inserts secured by a pin-and-clamp holding method. The bar features a 3/4-inch shank diameter and a 10-inch overall length, supporting a minimum bore diameter of 1 inch. With a negative rake angle of -14 degrees and a lead angle of 0 degrees, it is configured for stable, controlled material removal in bores. This tool is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians performing precision internal turning work.
This boring bar is suited for internal turning and boring applications on CNC lathes and manual turning centers in production and job-shop environments. Its MTFN toolholder style and right-hand cutting direction make it appropriate for conventional bore finishing and roughing passes where a 1-inch minimum bore diameter is acceptable. The pin-and-clamp insert retention provides consistent insert indexing during production runs. No coolant-through feature is present, so external coolant delivery should be planned at setup if required by the material or operation.
Designed to accept TNMG 332 triangle inserts with a compatible insert size code of 33 and an insert inscribed circle of 3/8 inch. Manufacturer cross-reference number S12-MTFNR/L-3 may be used to confirm fitment with equivalent tooling systems.
This boring bar is installed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians on CNC or manual turning equipment. Confirm the machine spindle is fully stopped and all energy is locked out before mounting or removing the toolholder. Secure the shank in the turret or toolpost to the equipment manufacturer's specified clamping torque using proper boring bar holders. Index or replace inserts with the spindle off, and inspect the pin-and-clamp mechanism for wear before each insert change.
