The SECO 00041050 is a right-hand MCLN-style indexable boring bar designed for internal turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built from steel with a 1-1/4 inch shank diameter and 14 inch overall length, it accepts CNMG 432 inserts secured by a pin and clamp holding method. The minimum bore diameter is 1.53 inches, making it suited for mid-range bore work. Through-coolant capability is built in via a 0.375 inch coolant hole, supporting chip evacuation and tool life in continuous cuts. The negative rake geometry and -5 degree lead angle are optimized for consistent, stable cuts in ferrous and hard materials.
This boring bar is intended for professional machining environments where precise internal diameter work is required. It is appropriate for job shop, production, and maintenance machining applications involving steel, cast iron, and similar materials. The right-hand cutting direction and MCLN toolholder style are standard configurations for conventional CNC lathe setups. Compatible hardware includes clamp screw XNS-47, clamp CL-20, and lock pin NL-44. The manufacturer also references this tool under the number A20-MCLNR-4.
Designed for use with CNMG 432 diamond-shaped inserts with a 1/2 inch inscribed circle and 3/16 inch thickness. Compatible clamp and hardware components are XNS-47 clamp screw, CL-20 clamp, and NL-44 lock pin. Also referenced as manufacturer number A20-MCLNR-4.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with indexable tooling setup on CNC or manual turning equipment. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts or adjusting the boring bar. Ensure the shank is clamped securely in the turret or toolpost to the full recommended engagement length to minimize overhang deflection. Follow the machine tool builder guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when connecting through-coolant lines.
