The SECO 00039971 is a solid carbide milling insert in the XOEX-06 series, designed for high-precision milling of non-ferrous metals. Carrying manufacturer grade H15 and an uncoated bright finish, it delivers a sharp cutting edge geometry with a positive rake angle of 29.2 degrees and a 15-degree relief angle. The parallelogram insert shape (ANSI/ISO code XOEX060204FR-E03) features 2 cutting edges, a corner radius of 0.0157 inches (1/64 inch), and a maximum depth of cut of 0.2362 inches. Installation is screw-held, right-hand orientation. The micrograin carbide substrate supports demanding applications where edge sharpness and dimensional accuracy are critical.
This insert is engineered for milling non-ferrous metals including aluminum alloys, copper alloys, and similar workpiece materials classified under ISO material group N. It is suited for use in production and job-shop environments where burr-free finishes and tight tolerances on non-ferrous components are required. The E03 chip breaker geometry is matched to the cutting conditions typical of these materials. This is a single-sided insert, sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Compatible with cutter series R217.69-06 per manufacturer specifications. Designed for use in XOEX-06 series milling tool bodies accepting XOEX060204FR-E03 inserts.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key for the insert clamping screw as specified by the cutter body manufacturer. Handle carbide inserts with care to avoid chipping the cutting edge during handling and seating.
