The SECO 00029843 is a solid carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN coating that improves surface hardness and thermal resistance during high-speed cuts. The insert has a 0.078-inch cutting width, a neutral lead angle, and a 0.006-inch corner radius. It belongs to the 150.10 series and uses a clamp-style holding method. This insert is suited for machinists and toolroom technicians running OD cutoff applications where precise width tolerances and a consistent finish are required.
The 00029843 is applied in OD cutoff and parting operations on turning equipment. Its neutral hand orientation makes it adaptable to standard right-hand tool configurations. The chipbreaker code 16 geometry supports chip control during cutoff passes. This insert is a single-end design sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units. It is appropriate for production shops and job shops running ferrous and non-ferrous materials in the C5 material grade range.
Designed for use with Series 150.10 clamping-style cutoff toolholders that accept this insert geometry. Confirm toolholder series and insert seat dimensions before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp screw per the toolholder manufacturer's specifications. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or damage before clamping to ensure proper seating and width accuracy.
