The SECO 00023610 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation APMX160408TR-M14 in manufacturer grade F40M. This single-sided, right-hand parallelogram insert features a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual coating over a fine-grain carbide substrate, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding milling applications. The insert measures 0.6693 inches in cutting edge effective length, 0.3717 inches inscribed circle diameter, and 0.2232 inches thick. A 1/32-inch corner radius and positive 24-degree rake angle with a T-Land cutting edge style reduce cutting forces and help maintain edge integrity across a range of workpiece materials.
This insert is designed for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. It fits within the SECO APMX-16 series and is compatible with cutter bodies R217.69-16 and R220.69-16. The M14 chip breaker geometry supports medium machining conditions and is well suited to both roughing and semi-finishing passes on ferrous and exotic alloys. It is screw-held and carries a maximum depth of cut of 0.6220 inches, making it appropriate for moderate to aggressive radial engagement in face and shoulder milling operations.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-16 and R220.69-16. Insert conforms to ANSI and ISO code APMX160408TR-M14 within the APMX-16 series. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials.
Installation is performed by machinists or tooling technicians following the cutter body manufacturer torque specifications for the retaining screw. Ensure the cutter body pocket and seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Confirm correct insert hand orientation — this is a right-hand insert — before securing. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine lockout protocols before changing inserts on the spindle.
