The SECO 00018263 is a solid carbide, multi-directional turning insert in the MDT series, designed for grooving and turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the CP500 manufacturer grade with a TiAlN/TiN PVD coating applied over a micrograin carbide substrate. The insert features a neutral hand orientation, a double-end configuration, and the LCMF160302-A125-MT style designation. With a maximum cutting width of 0.125 inches and a corner radius of 0.008 inches, it is suited for tight-tolerance groove profiles. Installation is performed by licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians in precision machining environments.
This insert is intended for multi-directional turning applications where lateral cutting forces must be managed precisely. The CP500 grade with PVD coating handles a broad range of workpiece materials, including hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, carbon steels, and high-temperature alloys, as indicated by primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. It fits standard LCMF-style insert pockets used in MDT toolholders and is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units per order.

This insert is installed and replaced by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully and squarely into the pocket and torque the clamping screw according to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the insert seat and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new insert to prevent micro-fractures at the cutting edge.
