The SECO 00016841 is a solid carbide multi-directional turning (MDT) insert designed for external and internal profiling and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide in the CP500 grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN coating, this insert delivers controlled wear resistance across a broad range of workpiece materials. It carries a neutral hand orientation, meaning it mounts without a preferred cut direction. Key cutting geometry includes a 0.118-inch maximum cutting width, a 0.177-inch cutting height, and a 0.016-inch corner radius. The FT chipbreaker geometry supports chip control during light-to-medium finishing cuts.

This insert is suited for shops performing precision turning and profiling in aerospace, medical, automotive, and general metalworking environments. Installation Notes
