The SECO 00015875 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert designed for high-efficiency machining of non-ferrous metals. Conforming to ANSI and ISO standards, this triangular insert carries the industry standard number TCGT32.52F-AL and ISO code TCGT16T308F-AL. The insert features a 60-degree included angle, a 3/8-inch (0.3750 inch) inscribed circle, a 1/32-inch (0.0315 inch) corner radius, and a positive rake geometry with a sharp cutting edge. The KX grade and AL chip breaker configuration make it well suited for light to medium cuts in aluminum, copper, brass, and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials. Screw-in holding method provides positive clamping in compatible toolholders.
This insert is intended for use in turning, facing, boring, and back turning operations on non-ferrous metals, corresponding to material grades N15, N20, and N25. The neutral hand orientation allows flexible deployment in standard CNC turning centers and manual lathes. Typical users include machinists and tooling specialists working in production shops, job shops, and maintenance environments where clean, burr-free finishes on aluminum and other light alloys are required. The 0.6181-inch maximum depth of cut supports a range of roughing and finishing passes.
Designed for use in TCGT-style screw-clamp toolholders accepting a triangular insert with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, 0.1732-inch hole diameter, and 5/32-inch insert thickness. Compatible with operations targeting material grades N15, N20, and N25 non-ferrous workpiece materials per ISO designation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician following the toolholder manufacturer's torque and clamping specifications. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before seating or replacing inserts. Inspect the toolholder pocket for chips or debris before installation to ensure proper seating and prevent insert rocking. Handling carbide inserts with care is recommended, as the cutting edges are sharp and the substrate is brittle.
