It carries the ANSI insert code CCGT32.51 and ISO code CCGT09T304, with an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape and a positive rake geometry that promotes clean, low-force cutting. The corner radius measures 0.0157 inches (1/64 inch), and the inscribed circle diameter is 0.375 inches (3/8 inch). The KX grade designation indicates high wear resistance suited to non-ferrous workpiece materials. This insert is installed by CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals on turning centers and boring applications.

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and will crack under excessive clamping force. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before securing the insert to ensure accurate seating and consistent tool life.
