The SECO 00014948 is a VCGX-style carbide drill chamfer insert engineered for precision chamfering operations in CNC drilling applications. Manufactured to the VCGX 090202-D1 geometry with an insert size code of 09, this insert features a 45-degree chamfer angle and is produced from a carbide substrate with a T400D manufacturer grade. The TiAlN and Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating is applied via a PVD process, delivering a hard, wear-resistant surface layer suited for high-speed cutting. This insert is part of the Seco Crownloc series and is intended for use by machinists and tooling professionals working with modular drill systems.
This insert is designed for universal workpiece material compatibility, covering material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, which span hardened materials, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, steel, and high-temperature alloys. It fits drilling applications where a chamfered entry or exit is required alongside the primary bore. The 0.1142-inch hole diameter and 0.345-inch overall width make it appropriate for compact, precision toolholders within the Seco Crownloc drill platform. Suitable for both production and job-shop environments in light to medium-duty machining.
Designed for use within the Seco Crownloc drill platform. Compatible with universal workpiece materials corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Verify toolholder seat geometry and insert pocket dimensions against the VCGX 090202-D1 specification before installation.
Installation of this insert should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing the insert. Use the correct torx or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the insert clamp to the recommended clamping procedure. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installation to ensure proper seating and prevent premature edge failure.
