The SECO 00013342 is a left-hand SDJC-style indexable turning toolholder engineered for external turning operations across a wide range of workpiece materials. Built on a 0.5 x 0.5 inch steel shank with a 3.5 inch overall length, this toolholder uses a screw-lock insert holding method to secure DC..21.5. series inserts with a 0.25 inch inscribed circle. The neutral rake geometry at 0 degrees provides a balanced cutting profile suited to universal material applications. The cutting direction is left-hand, and the holder features no through-coolant capability.
This toolholder is intended for use in external turning applications on manual and CNC lathes. It is suited for machining a broad spectrum of workpiece materials including steels, stainless steels, cast irons, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and other materials classified under universal workpiece material codes. The screw-lock clamping system ensures repeatable insert positioning during production runs, making it a practical choice for both job shop and high-mix production environments. Machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary installers.
Designed for use with DCMT 21.51 inserts and DC..21.5. series inserts. Compatible workpiece material codes include H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering a broad range of universal turning applications.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Confirm the lathe tool post or turret is sized to accept a 0.5 x 0.5 inch shank before mounting. Power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts or repositioning the toolholder. Use the appropriate torx or hex key specified by the insert screw to secure the clamping screw to the manufacturer's recommended procedure without over-torquing the insert.
