The SECO 00008575 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert in the TPG-Flat Top series, designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a triangular insert shape with a 60-degree included angle, a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/64-inch corner radius (0.0157 inches). The insert carries a positive rake geometry, a honed cutting edge, and an 11-degree relief angle. With three cutting edges per insert, it delivers efficient tool life in demanding turning, facing, boring, and back-turning operations. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working on superalloys and titanium are the primary users of this insert.
This insert is primarily rated for superalloys and titanium (Material Grade S10, S20, S30) and is also suitable for secondary workpiece materials including steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. Its uncoated bright finish makes it well suited for applications where coating adhesion on reactive materials is a concern. It is held in position by a clamp-style toolholder and is applicable across turning, facing, boring, and back-turning operations in both production and job-shop environments. The insert conforms to ANSI and ISO standards, with an ISO equivalent code of TPGN220404.
