The SECO 00008345 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert in the TPG-Flat Top series, designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to ANSI insert code TPG322 and ISO code TPG160308, this insert features a 60-degree triangular shape with a positive rake and positive side clearance. The F-grade geometry includes a honed cutting edge and flat top chip breaker, optimized for high wear-resistance across a toughness range suited to demanding workpiece materials. Three cutting edges are available per insert, making it a cost-efficient choice for production turning operations.
This insert is primarily intended for machining superalloys and titanium (ISO material code S), with secondary suitability for stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous, and hardened materials (M, K, N, H). Applicable operations include turning, facing, boring, and back turning. The TPG-style insert is held in place by a clamp-style toolholder and suits both roughing and finishing passes within its maximum depth of cut rating. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in ANSI TPG322 and ISO TPGN160308 compliant clamp-style toolholders. Compatible with turning, facing, boring, and back turning applications on superalloys, titanium, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous, and hardened workpiece materials.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and zero-out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use a torque driver appropriate for the toolholder manufacturer's clamp screw specification — do not overtighten. Confirm insert is fully seated and clamp is secure before resuming cutting operations.
