The SECO 00007495 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert in the TNMG series, designed for demanding metal-removal operations on superalloys, titanium, and other difficult-to-machine materials. It carries an ANSI insert code of TNMG432 and an ISO code of TNMG220408-MR4. The insert features a 60-degree triangular shape with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, a 1/32-inch corner radius (0.0315 inches), and a negative rake, negative side clearance geometry. The MR4 chip breaker is optimized for roughing and medium machining passes. With six cutting edges per insert, this grade 883 carbide offers high wear resistance combined with toughness for S-grade workpiece materials.
This insert is suited for CNC turning centers and manual lathes where the workpiece material is a superalloy or titanium (primary material code S), with secondary suitability for steel (M), cast iron (K), non-ferrous metals (N), and hardened materials (H). Typical applications include back turning, boring, facing, and standard OD turning. The insert is held via clamp, pin, or lever-lock toolholders accepting TNMG-format seats. It is intended for use by machinists and tooling specialists in aerospace, power generation, and precision manufacturing environments where material toughness and thermal resistance are primary concerns.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists following standard indexable insert exchange procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Ensure the toolholder pocket and seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before clamping. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping torque and holding method requirements; do not mix incompatible holding systems.
