The SECO 00005579 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation ACET150612TR-M14 and manufactured to grade F40M with a fine-grain carbide substrate. It features a parallelogram shape (ACET style) with a positive rake angle of 15 degrees, a 7-degree relief angle, and a T-Land cutting edge style. The insert is PVD-coated with TiAlN and TiN for wear resistance across a range of workpiece materials. Two cutting edges are available per insert, and the screw-in holding method provides secure, repeatable seating in compatible milling cutter bodies. This insert is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in milling operations on CNC or manual machining centers.
This insert is suited for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. It is designed for use in the ACET-15 series and is compatible with cutter bodies R220.69-15H, R217.59-12, R220.59-12, R217.81, and R220.81. The M14 chip breaker geometry supports medium-duty cutting conditions across this broad material range. Typical applications include face milling and shoulder milling in production and job-shop environments where consistent chip control and edge life are priorities.

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the cutter body is secured or removed from the spindle before changing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw; follow the cutter body manufacturer's torque specification for the insert pocket. Inspect the pocket seat and shim for debris or damage before seating a new insert to prevent premature edge failure or insert fracture.
