The SEAL-TITE 301-05 is a round stick-on takeoff collar designed for residential and light commercial duct systems. Fabricated from 26-gauge galvanized sheet metal, this fitting attaches directly to flat duct board or sheet metal plenums using a peel-off adhesive backing, eliminating the need for mechanical fasteners during initial attachment. The 5-inch twist-lock collar features a hemmed edge, an engineered throat and radii for improved airflow transition, and a fully closed corner with a double-lapped, mechanically seamed joint for added structural integrity. Licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal mechanics use this fitting to branch supply air from trunk ducts or air handler plenums.
The 301-05 is suited for trunk-and-branch duct systems in residential new construction and retrofit applications. The peel-off adhesive simplifies placement on duct board plenums, while the hemmed 5-inch collar accepts standard round duct and flex duct connectors. This fitting is commonly installed at the plenum face where individual branch runs originate, providing a clean, sealed transition point. Its construction meets the requirements of several widely referenced energy and mechanical codes and standards applicable to forced-air duct system assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style sheet metal fitting for use with 5-inch round duct and flex duct branch connections in forced-air supply duct systems.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed sheet metal mechanic or HVAC technician. Shut down the air handler and confirm the system is de-energized before cutting into any existing plenum or duct surface. Ensure the plenum surface is clean and free of debris before applying the adhesive backing to achieve a proper seal. Supplement with mastic sealant or UL 181-rated tape at the collar joint as required by local mechanical codes.
