The SEAL-TITE 1727-04 is a 4-inch ductboard collar with a 6-inch crimped length, designed for use with 1-inch to 1.5-inch ductboard panels. This sheet metal fitting creates a secure transition point where round duct connects to a ductboard plenum or trunk line. The crimped end seats firmly into the ductboard cutout, while the straight collar end accepts flexible duct or rigid round pipe. HVAC sheet metal installers and duct fabricators use this collar during new construction and system retrofit work to maintain airtight connections at supply or return takeoffs.
This collar is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC applications where ductboard is the primary trunk or plenum material. It accommodates ductboard panels ranging from 1 inch to 1.5 inches in thickness, making it compatible with the most common ductboard dimensions used in forced-air systems. The 6-inch crimped shank provides sufficient depth for a reliable, foil-taped connection that meets typical duct sealing requirements.
Designed for use with 1-inch to 1.5-inch ductboard panels in residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC duct systems requiring a 4-inch round collar takeoff.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified duct fabricators. Power down the air handling equipment and relieve any system pressure before cutting into an existing ductboard plenum. Insert the crimped shank through the ductboard cutout and seal all edges with UL 181-rated foil tape or mastic per applicable mechanical codes. Do not exceed the pressure rating of the ductboard system when sizing takeoffs.
