The SEAL-TITE 115012 is a round duct starting collar designed to create a branch take-off connection from a plenum or main trunk line to round pipe or flex duct. The extended long-body design provides deeper insertion into the mating duct, resulting in a more mechanically secure connection than standard-length collars. Available in a 12-inch diameter, this collar suits residential and light commercial HVAC air distribution work. Sheet metal workers and HVAC technicians install this type of fitting during new duct system construction or duct modification projects.
The 115012 is intended for use wherever a branch run must be tapped off a plenum box or rectangular trunk line. The long collar body is particularly useful in applications where added insertion depth improves joint stability or where standard collars fall short of reaching the interior duct lining. The 12-inch diameter accommodates large branch runs common in residential forced-air systems and light commercial installations.
Designed as an OEM-style starting collar for 12-inch round branch take-offs in residential and light commercial forced-air duct systems connecting to round rigid pipe or flexible duct.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified sheet metal workers. Before cutting into any duct section, shut down and de-energize the air handling system completely. Use a hole saw or aviation snips to cut a clean 12-inch round opening in the plenum or trunk, then insert and secure the collar per the duct system manufacturer guidelines and local mechanical code requirements. Seal the collar flange to the duct surface with listed duct sealant or UL 181-rated tape to maintain system airtightness.
