The SEAGULL LIGHTING DR72RZW is a 72-inch ceiling fan downrod finished in matte white. A downrod is the metal extension pipe that connects a ceiling fan motor housing to the ceiling mounting bracket, and it determines the hanging height of the fan below the ceiling. This downrod is suited for rooms with high ceilings where standard-length downrods leave the fan too close to the ceiling for adequate airflow. Installation is handled by electricians or HVAC-mechanical contractors during ceiling fan rough-in or replacement work.
This downrod is designed for use in residential applications where a longer drop is needed to position a ceiling fan at the correct operational height. High-vaulted ceilings, great rooms, and two-story entryways are typical install locations. The matte white finish is intended to coordinate with white ceiling fan motor housings and canopies.
