Seagate ST8000NM017B Enterprise Hard Drive 8TB

Product Description

The SEAGATE ST8000NM017B is an 8TB enterprise-class hard disk drive from the Exos 7E10 product line, designed for high-density data storage in demanding server and data center environments. Built around a 7200 RPM spindle speed and supporting both 512e and 4K native sector formats, this drive is engineered for compatibility with modern storage controllers and legacy infrastructure alike. It is a SATA interface drive intended for deployment by storage engineers, systems integrators, and IT infrastructure technicians managing enterprise workloads.

The ST8000NM017B is suited for use in rackmount servers, network-attached storage arrays, direct-attached storage enclosures, and enterprise backup appliances. Its 512e and 4K sector support makes it appropriate for mixed storage environments where controller compatibility varies. This drive targets data center operators, managed service providers, and IT teams handling high-throughput or high-capacity storage consolidation projects.

Key Features

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified storage technician or systems administrator familiar with enterprise drive handling procedures. Power down the host system or hot-swap bay before seating the drive unless the enclosure is verified hot-swap capable. Handle the drive by its edges and avoid exposure to static discharge. Follow the storage system manufacturer guidelines for drive firmware compatibility and RAID rebuild procedures before placing the drive into a production array.
