The SDC - SECURITY DOOR CONTROLS 707U is a double-pole double-throw (DPDT) key switch designed for access control and security door applications. Key switches of this type provide a secure, operator-controlled means of toggling circuits that manage electric locks, door releases, magnetic hold-opens, or alarm systems. The DPDT configuration gives the installer two independent switching circuits in a single keyed operator, allowing simultaneous control of multiple circuit paths. Licensed security installers and low-voltage technicians are the primary trades who specify and install this device.
The 707U is suited for commercial and institutional access control installations where a physical key is required to actuate a switching function. Typical applications include door prop override stations, elevator access control panels, security desk consoles, and perimeter entry points. It is sold as a single unit and is appropriate for both new construction and retrofit security door control projects.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation key switch for commercial access control and security door control systems.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed low-voltage or security systems technician in accordance with applicable local codes and NFPA 70 (NEC) Article 725 for Class 2 and Class 3 remote-control circuits. De-energize all connected access control circuits before wiring the switch. Verify that the DPDT contact configuration matches the intended circuit logic before securing the device in its mounting location. Do not exceed the rated voltage and current for the switch contacts.
