The SCIENTIFIC CUTTING TOOLS TT290750 is a solid carbide single point threading tool designed for internal thread cutting operations on a lathe. It produces 60-degree thread profiles across a range of 12 to 40 TPI, with a minimum threading diameter of 0.29 inches and a cutting depth capacity of 0.75 inches. The 5/16-inch shank and 2.5-inch overall length make this a compact, rigid tool suited for precision internal threading in bores. The bright, uncoated carbide construction delivers consistent performance in a variety of workpiece materials. Machinists and toolroom operators use this tool for threading passes requiring tight geometry control.
This tool is intended for internal threading applications on manual and CNC lathes. It is well suited for producing standard 60-degree thread forms such as Unified (UN) and Metric profiles in small to medium bore diameters. Typical use cases include threading fluid fittings, hydraulic components, and precision mechanical assemblies where internal thread accuracy is required. The 0.07-inch projection from the edge supports clearance in confined bore environments.
Designed as an OEM-style single point threading insert tool for use in standard lathe tool holders accepting a 5/16-inch round shank for internal threading operations.
This tool is installed by qualified machinists following standard lathe tooling setup procedures. Secure the shank firmly in the tool holder and verify centerline height before threading passes. Power down the lathe and lock out the spindle before making any tool adjustments or changes. Do not exceed the rated TPI range or minimum bore diameter to avoid tool deflection or workpiece damage.
