The SCIENTIFIC CUTTING TOOLS TT2301000A is a solid carbide single point threading tool designed for internal thread cutting operations. With a minimum threading diameter of 0.23 inches and a thread range of 14 to 40 TPI, it handles a wide variety of internal thread profiles in a single tool. The 60-degree profile angle makes it suitable for standard unified and metric thread forms. An AlTiN+ coating improves wear resistance and performance in harder workpiece materials. This tool is used by machinists and toolroom professionals on CNC lathes and manual turning equipment.
This tool is built for internal threading on production and job-shop turning applications. It is suited for threading bores as small as 0.23 inches in diameter at cutting depths up to 1 inch. The 5/16-inch shank diameter fits standard boring bar-style holders, and the 2.5-inch overall length provides adequate reach for most common bore depths. The 0.055-inch projection from the edge keeps the cutting point well-positioned relative to the holder for consistent thread geometry.
Designed as a replacement or direct-fit single point threading insert for standard 5/16-inch bore holders used in CNC and manual lathe internal threading applications.
Installation is performed by machinists and toolroom technicians. The tool should be secured in a compatible 5/16-inch shank holder with appropriate set screws torqued per the holder manufacturer specification. The machine spindle must be brought to a full stop and the lathe locked out before mounting or removing the tool. Confirm tool projection and centerline height before beginning a threading pass to avoid misalignment and thread form error.
