The SCIENTIFIC CUTTING TOOLS TT090200A is a solid carbide single point threading tool designed for internal thread cutting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. With a minimum threading diameter of 0.09 inches and a thread range of 32 to 64 TPI, this tool handles fine-pitch internal threads in small-bore applications. The 60-degree profile angle covers standard Unified (UN) thread forms. An AlTiN+ coating provides elevated heat resistance and extended tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. The 0.2-inch cut depth and 0.025-inch projection from edge define the cutting envelope. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this tool in standard 1/8-inch shank holders.
This threading tool is suited for precision internal threading in small-diameter bores common in medical components, hydraulic fittings, instrumentation housings, and aerospace hardware. The 32 to 64 TPI range covers coarse and fine thread series in small diameters. At 1.5 inches overall length with a 1/8-inch shank, it is compatible with micro-boring bar systems and small-shank tool holders used in Swiss-type and gang-tool lathes. No coolant-through capability is present, so flood or mist coolant applied externally is the standard approach in production setups.
Designed for use with 1/8-inch shank boring bars and threading tool holders on CNC lathes, turning centers, and Swiss-type screw machines capable of single point threading operations.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC lathe tooling and single point threading cycles. Power down and lock out the machine before inserting or adjusting the tool in its holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated and clamped per the tool holder manufacturer guidelines before running. Verify thread pitch and spindle speed parameters in the threading program before engaging the cut, as incorrect feed-per-revolution settings will damage the tool or the workpiece.
