The SCIENTIFIC CUTTING TOOLS TMLR100-32ELA is a helical flute thread mill designed for cutting internal 6-32 UNC threads in a CNC machining environment. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide and finished with an AlTiN+ coating, it delivers extended tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. The cutter features a 0.1-inch cutting diameter, 0.4-inch length of cut, and 2.5-inch overall length, making it suited for long-reach applications where standard-length tooling cannot access the workpiece. Three right-hand helical flutes provide smooth chip evacuation and consistent thread form on each pass.
This thread mill is intended for use on CNC machining centers capable of helical interpolation. It is sized for internal thread milling in tight-clearance bores and deep-pocket applications where long-reach tooling geometry is required. The 1/4-inch shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders. Typical applications include precision machine components, fastener bosses, and threaded inserts in aerospace, automotive, and general manufacturing work. The long-reach body allows threading in recessed features without interference from surrounding workpiece geometry.
Designed for CNC machining centers capable of helical interpolation, using standard 1/4-inch shank collet chucks or end mill holders for internal 6-32 UNC thread milling operations.
Installation and operation of this thread mill is performed by qualified CNC machinists or tooling technicians. Secure the 1/4-inch shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder torqued to the tool holder manufacturer's specification before running the spindle. Confirm the CNC control is programmed for helical interpolation at the correct pitch for 32 TPI before cutting. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping between operations, as carbide tooling is brittle and should never be used if edge damage is present.
