The SCIENTIFIC CUTTING TOOLS EN125-60 is a solid carbide engraving cutter designed for precision material removal in engraving, marking, and contouring applications. Built with a conical point geometry at a 60-degree included angle and a 0.005-inch tip diameter, this cutter delivers fine, accurate detail work on hard and soft substrates. The submicron carbide grade provides edge retention and resistance to chipping during close-tolerance cuts. With a 0.103-inch length of cut and a 1/8-inch shank diameter, it mounts directly into standard collet toolholders on CNC routers, engraving machines, and machining centers. Machinists, toolmakers, and CNC operators install this cutter for production and prototype engraving tasks.
The EN125-60 is suited for engraving text, logos, part numbers, and fine-line details on metals, plastics, composites, and coated surfaces. Its right-hand cutting direction and conical profile make it a standard choice for V-groove engraving and surface scribing on flat or slightly contoured workpieces. The uncoated finish is appropriate for applications where coating buildup would compromise dimensional accuracy at very small tip diameters. Typical setups include CNC engraving machines and vertical machining centers using 1/8-inch collets or ER collet chucks.
Designed as an OEM-style engraving cutter for use in CNC routers, engraving machines, and vertical machining centers equipped with 1/8-inch collet toolholding systems.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC operators. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the cutter. Seat the 1/8-inch shank fully into a clean, undamaged collet and torque the collet nut per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. At a 0.005-inch tip diameter, the cutting edge is extremely fragile - avoid contact with workholding fixtures or hard surfaces during tool changes.
