The SCIENTIFIC CUTTING TOOLS B3601500 is a right-hand boring bar machined from submicron-grade solid carbide, designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC and manual lathes. It carries a minimum bore diameter of 23/64 inches (0.3600 inches decimal) and a maximum bore depth of 1.5 inches, making it well-suited for tight-tolerance through and blind bore work. The shank diameter is 3/8 inches with an overall length of 2.5 inches. Submicron carbide grade provides elevated wear resistance and edge retention compared to standard carbide, supporting consistent dimensional accuracy across production runs.
This boring bar is intended for use in metal-cutting environments where fine bore finishes and close tolerances are required. It is a fit for job shops, production machine shops, and toolrooms working with ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The Series B36 designation places it in SCIENTIFIC CUTTING TOOLS' line of small-diameter solid carbide boring bars. Typical applications include bearing seat preparation, hydraulic component bores, and precision sleeve boring where a compact, rigid tool is necessary.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling for standard 3/8 inches boring bar holders and tool blocks used in CNC lathes and manual turning centers.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or changing tooling. Secure the shank fully within the holder to the recommended grip length to minimize deflection and chatter. Follow shop safety protocols and applicable OSHA machining standards when handling carbide tooling.
