The SCIENTIFIC CUTTING TOOLS B080200A is a solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on small-diameter features. Built from submicron-grade carbide and finished with an AlTiN+ coating, this bar delivers high wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding cutting environments. It features a right-hand cutting direction, a minimum bore diameter of 0.08 inches, and a maximum bore depth of 13/64 inches (0.200 inches). The 1/8-inch shank diameter and 1-1/2-inch overall length make it well-suited for compact tooling setups on CNC lathes and machining centers.
This boring bar is intended for machinists and toolroom professionals working with tight-tolerance small-bore applications. It is commonly used in production and job-shop environments where consistent finish quality and dimensional accuracy are required in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The AlTiN+ coating supports dry or minimal-coolant cutting conditions and extends tool life in harder workpiece materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling option for 1/8-inch shank boring bar holders used in CNC lathes, turning centers, and machining centers requiring small-diameter internal boring capability.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with toolholder setup and boring bar runout requirements. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder to the minimum recommended clamping depth before operation. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or setting tooling. Verify bore diameter and depth against part print prior to initiating a cutting pass.
