The SCIENTIFIC CUTTING TOOLS B060200 is a submicron solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on small-diameter bores. It accepts a minimum bore diameter of 0.06 inches and reaches a maximum bore depth of 13/64 inches (0.200 inches), making it well suited for tight-tolerance work in compact bore geometries. The 1/8-inch shank diameter keeps the tooling footprint small, and the 1-1/2-inch overall length fits standard small-bore toolholders. This bar is uncoated, which supports consistent performance with a wide range of cutting fluids and workpiece materials. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this bar when fine bore sizing or finish boring is required in close-quarter applications.
This boring bar is intended for use in CNC turning centers, manual lathes, and precision boring setups where small internal diameters must be held to tight tolerances. The right-hand cutting direction suits standard spindle rotation in the majority of conventional setups. Applications include finish boring of hydraulic valve bodies, instrument housings, medical components, and other small-bore precision parts where submicron carbide grade material provides the rigidity needed to minimize deflection and chatter.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit boring bar for toolholders and boring systems accepting a 1/8-inch round shank with right-hand cutting geometry.
A qualified machinist should install this boring bar following the toolholder manufacturer's clamping specifications. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the bar. Ensure the shank seating surface and toolholder bore are clean and free of chips before clamping. Do not exceed the maximum bore depth rating, as extended reach beyond the rated depth increases deflection risk and can damage the carbide bar.
