The SCHUNK 1447895 is a hydraulic tool chuck designed for CNC machining centers using a CAT40 taper shank interface. It accepts a 1-inch (25.4 mm) bore and delivers high-precision tool clamping through hydraulic expansion, eliminating the need for collets or shrink-fit equipment. With a balanced rating of 25,000 RPM and a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.003 mm, this chuck is suited for high-speed finishing and semi-finishing operations where concentricity directly affects surface quality and tool life. Through-coolant capability routes cutting fluid directly to the tool tip, improving chip evacuation and thermal management in deep-bore or close-tolerance work.
This chuck is used in vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers equipped with CAT40 spindles. It is commonly installed in production environments running high-speed steel or carbide end mills, drills, and reamers where runout control is critical. With an 81 mm projection and 55 mm clamping depth, it accommodates standard tooling shanks in aerospace, die-mold, and general precision machining applications. Installation and tool changes are performed by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians as part of routine setup.
Designed for use in CAT40-spindle CNC machining centers accepting hydraulic tool chucks with a 1-inch bore. Confirm spindle interface and drawbar pull-stud specification before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Disengage spindle power and lock out the machine before mounting or removing the chuck from the spindle. Use the appropriate pull-stud and torque wrench per the machine tool builder specifications when securing the chuck to the spindle. Inspect the taper shank and spindle bore for contamination or damage before seating; even minor debris at the taper interface will affect runout performance.
