The SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC ZA2BD2 is a 2-position maintained selector switch operator designed for industrial control panel applications. It features a black plastic knob operator that holds its selected position until manually moved, making it suitable for mode selection, on/off switching, and similar control functions. The unit mounts through a 22 mm panel cutout and carries NEMA 4X and NEMA 13 ratings, meaning it resists dust, oil, and water ingress. Ingress protection is rated IP66 and IP69K, allowing washdown and high-pressure cleaning environments. Licensed electricians and panel builders install this component as part of a push button or operator station assembly.
The ZA2BD2 is used in residential, commercial, and industrial control panels where a durable, oil-tight selector operator is required. Typical applications include machine tool controls, pump panels, HVAC equipment controls, and other motor control enclosures that demand reliable operator interfaces. The maintained action makes it appropriate for circuits that must stay energized or de-energized between operator inputs without the use of latching relays or hold circuits. This operator is the knob-and-bezel assembly only and requires a compatible contact block to form a complete switching device.
Designed for use with 22 mm operator station assemblies requiring a maintained selector knob operator. This is the operator only and must be paired with a compatible contact block for a complete switching circuit.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with NEC and applicable local codes. De-energize the control panel and verify absence of voltage before installing or replacing any operator or contact block. The operator mounts through a 22 mm panel hole and is secured from the rear with the appropriate retaining nut. Do not overtighten the panel retaining hardware, as the bezel is plastic and may crack under excessive torque.
