The SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC LR3D365 is a thermal IEC overload relay rated for 48 to 65 amps at up to 690 VAC. It protects three-phase motor circuits from sustained overcurrent conditions by using bimetallic thermal sensing to trip the control circuit before motor windings overheat. Rated Trip Class 10A, this relay responds quickly to overload events, making it well suited for motor starters in demanding industrial and commercial applications. Licensed electricians and industrial maintenance technicians install this device as part of a complete motor starter assembly.
The LR3D365 is designed for use with LC1D50A and LC1D65A contactors, fitting directly onto those units without additional mounting hardware. It is used in three-phase motor control panels for commercial HVAC equipment, pumps, compressors, and conveyor systems where IEC-standard motor protection is required. The adjustable current range of 48 to 65 amps covers a broad span of motor FLA ratings within that band, reducing the number of SKUs needed on a service truck or panel shop shelf.
Rated for use with SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC LC1D50A and LC1D65A contactors as a direct-mount overload relay.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with NEC Article 430 and any applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the panel before mounting or wiring the relay. The LR3D365 clips directly onto its matched contactor; verify the current adjustment dial is set to the motor nameplate FLA before energizing. Do not bypass or defeat the overload relay during commissioning testing.
