The SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC LR2D3553 is a thermal IEC overload relay rated for 23 to 32 amps at up to 690 VAC. It protects three-phase and single-phase motor loads from sustained overcurrent conditions by detecting heat buildup in the bimetal sensing elements. When current exceeds the set threshold, the relay trips and interrupts the control circuit before the motor or downstream equipment sustains damage. Rated Trip Class 20, it is designed for applications where a moderate delay on trip is appropriate. Licensed electricians and industrial maintenance technicians install and configure this relay as part of a motor starter assembly.
The LR2D3553 is intended for use with LC1D80 and LC1D95 contactor bodies, making it a direct-mount accessory in those motor starter configurations. It is suited for commercial and industrial motor control applications including pump motors, fan motors, conveyor drives, and compressor loads where IEC-style motor protection is required. The Trip Class 20 rating accommodates motors with higher inrush characteristics during startup.
Designed for use with Schneider Electric LC1D80 and LC1D95 IEC contactors as a direct-mount thermal overload relay in motor starter assemblies.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with NEC requirements and applicable local codes. Disconnect and lock out all power to the motor control panel before mounting or adjusting this relay. Set the current adjustment dial to match the full-load amperage of the protected motor after installation. Do not exceed the rated voltage or current range of the relay.
