The SCHAEFER BRUSH 43856 is a double stem spiral tube brush designed for cleaning the interior surfaces of tubes, pipes, and cylindrical passages. The brush measures 3 inches in diameter with an overall length of 7.25 inches and a brush scraper length of 4.5 inches. Bristles and brush construction are both stainless steel, making this brush resistant to corrosion and suitable for use in wet, oily, or chemically active environments. It connects via a 1/4 inch male NPSM threaded fitting, allowing attachment to standard extension rods or drill chucks. This tool is used by HVAC technicians, plumbers, and mechanical service professionals for tube and pipe bore maintenance.
This tube brush is suited for residential and commercial applications where internal bore cleaning of heat exchanger tubes, condenser tubes, copper pipe, or similar cylindrical components is required. The spiral double stem construction keeps bristles distributed evenly across the bore surface for consistent contact and mechanical scrubbing. It is typically deployed during preventive maintenance, system reconditioning, or installation prep where tube walls must be cleaned before brazing, inspection, or reassembly.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard service brush for use with 1/4 inch NPSM male-compatible extension rods and drill adapters in tube and pipe bore cleaning applications.
Installed by HVAC technicians, plumbers, and mechanical service professionals. Before brushing tube assemblies connected to pressurized systems, depressurize and isolate the circuit fully. The 1/4 inch NPSM male thread should be hand-tightened onto a compatible extension rod before applying rotational force. Avoid forcing an oversized brush into an undersized bore, as this can damage bristles and tube walls.
