The SCHAEFER BRUSH 43036 is a flat wire single spiral flue scraper designed to remove carbon deposits, soot, and scale from the interior walls of flue pipes and chimney liners. The scraper head measures 3-3/4 inches in diameter with a brush length of 4-1/2 inches and an overall length of 7-3/4 inches. It is constructed from tempered steel wire, which provides the rigidity needed to break loose hardened deposits without collapsing under pressure. The 1/4 inch male NPSM threaded connection allows it to attach directly to standard extension rods. HVAC technicians and chimney service professionals use this tool during routine flue cleaning and inspection work.
This flue scraper is suited for residential and light commercial applications where flue pipe interiors require mechanical cleaning. It is commonly used on B-vent, single-wall metal flue, and similar round flue systems with an interior diameter compatible with the 3-3/4 inch head. The tool is deployed during annual heat exchanger and venting system inspections, boiler flue cleanouts, and combustion appliance maintenance procedures. A single unit is packaged per order.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service tool for use with standard extension rod systems accepting a 1/4 inch male NPSM connection, suitable for round flue pipes with an interior diameter of approximately 3-3/4 inches.
This scraper is installed and operated by qualified HVAC technicians or chimney service professionals. Before beginning any flue cleaning procedure, shut down and allow the connected combustion appliance to cool completely, and confirm the flue is free of active draft. Thread the scraper securely onto a compatible extension rod before inserting into the flue. Always work in accordance with applicable local codes and NFPA 211 guidelines for chimney and venting system service.
