The SCHAEFER BRUSH 31448 is a galvanized steel brush handle extension designed to increase reach when using tube brushes and scrapers in tight or deep passages. At 60 inches in overall length with a 0.32-inch diameter shaft, this extension provides substantial added reach without sacrificing rigidity. The 1/4-inch NPSM female connection accepts standard male-threaded brush handles, and the 1/4-inch NPSM male end threads directly into compatible brushes or additional extensions. Galvanized steel construction resists corrosion in wet or chemical-exposure environments. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and maintenance professionals working on heat exchangers, boilers, condensate drains, and similar tubular systems rely on this type of extension to complete brush cleaning tasks that would otherwise require disassembly.
This extension is suited for use in residential and commercial applications where tube brushes or scrapers must reach deep into flues, heat exchanger passages, condensate drain lines, or pipe interiors. The standardized 1/4-inch NPSM thread pattern allows the extension to interface with a wide range of compatible brush handles and tube brush assemblies. It is particularly useful when access is limited and manual reach alone is insufficient to clean or clear the full length of a passage.
Designed for use with tube brushes and scrapers that accept 1/4-inch NPSM threaded connections. Multiple extensions may be coupled together where additional length is required.
This extension is installed by hand-threading the female end onto a compatible brush handle and attaching the desired tube brush or scraper to the male end. No special tools are required for assembly. Ensure all threaded connections are snug before use to prevent separation inside the passage being cleaned. Disconnect and inspect all components after use, particularly after exposure to caustic cleaning solutions.
