The SANDVIK COROMANT 8213478 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling across a wide range of workpiece materials. It features a 2 mm mill diameter, a 0.20 mm corner radius, and a 4-flute right-hand spiral configuration that supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. The AlCrN PVD multilayer coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting temperatures. At 50 mm overall length with a 4 mm length of cut and 10 mm reach length, this is an extended-reach tool suited for tight-tolerance work in die, mold, and precision component machining. Installation and operation require compatible toolholders per the manufacturer's series 1K334 specifications.
This end mill is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, N, and S. Its extended-reach geometry and centercutting capability make it appropriate for plunge entry, slotting, and profiling in confined or deep-pocket features. It is a single-end tool with a straight cylindrical shank, making it compatible with standard precision collet and hydraulic toolholding systems used in CNC machining centers. Secondary workpiece material classification is stainless steel, code M.
Designed for use with standard precision toolholders compatible with a 2 mm straight cylindrical shank. Part of the SANDVIK COROMANT Series 1K334 product line. Manufacturer catalog number 1K334-0200-020-XC 1730.
This tool is installed and operated by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Before changing tooling, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is placed in a safe state per shop lockout procedures. Seat the shank fully in a clean, undamaged toolholder and verify runout before cutting. Do not exceed the manufacturer-rated cutting parameters for the workpiece material being machined.
