The SANDVIK COROMANT 8194182 is a carbide cut-off and parting insert designed for precision groove and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to Grade 1225 with a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiAlSiN/TiSiN multilayer coating, this insert delivers consistent tool life when cutting steel and stainless steel workpieces. The cutting width measures 0.0787 inches (2.00 mm) with a cutting height of 0.7484 inches (19.01 mm), and the corner radius is 0.0079 inches. It features a CM chipbreaker geometry and a left-hand cutting direction. Installation is via clamp-type insert holding, using an E-seat size holder. Licensed machinists and CNC tool setters working in production or job shop environments are the primary users of this insert.
This insert is suited for cut-off and parting applications in residential, industrial, and production machining environments. The C2I style with E2 size code and ISO designation C2I-E2N-0200-0002-CM1225 places it in the CoroCut 2 series platform. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO code P), with secondary suitability for stainless steel (ISO code M). It is a single-hand, non-multi-use insert intended for dedicated left-hand parting tool setups.
Designed for use in CoroCut 2 series clamp-style toolholders accepting a C2I insert style with an E insert seat size. Specific holder compatibility should be confirmed against the CoroCut 2 toolholder selection guide using ISO code C2I-E2N-0200-0002-CM1225.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tool setter with the machine in a full stop, locked-out, and de-energized state before any insert change. Use the correct torque wrench and clamping screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the insert properly in the E-seat pocket. Inspect the insert seat and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Do not use this insert in a right-hand toolholder configuration, as it is designed exclusively for left-hand cutting direction.
