The SANDVIK COROMANT 8037616 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill from the CoroMill Dura series, designed for high-performance milling in demanding production environments. It features a 3/4-inch cutting diameter with a 0.06-inch corner radius, a 2-1/4-inch length of cut, and a 5-inch overall length. The ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating improves wear resistance and surface finish performance. With three flutes, a right-hand cutting direction, variable helix, and variable index geometry, this end mill reduces harmonics and chatter during aggressive cuts. It is a single-end, centercutting tool suitable for plunge entry and full-slot operations. Machinists and CNC operators in precision machining shops are the primary installers and users of this tool.
The 8037616 is suited for milling non-ferrous materials consistent with its N1BZ material grade designation, which targets aluminum, copper, and similar alloys. The CoroMill Dura series is engineered for high material removal rates in production settings. The 3/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard ER, Weldon, or hydraulic toolholders with a 3/4-inch bore. The right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation in typical climb-milling strategies used in vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers accepting a 3/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for toolholders including ER collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and hydraulic chucks bored to 3/4 inch. Part of the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroMill Dura series.
This tool is installed and operated by machinists or CNC programmers in a controlled shop environment. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is in a safe state before mounting or removing the end mill. Verify toolholder runout with a dial indicator before cutting to protect the cutting edges and workpiece tolerances. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's torque specifications when tightening collet nuts or set screws.
