The SANDVIK COROMANT 8037609 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill from the CoroMill Dura series, designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 3/4-inch diameter, a 1-5/8-inch length of cut (0.875 inches decimal), and a 0.06-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge and extends tool life on profiling and finishing passes. The three-flute geometry with a 35-degree variable helix and variable index pitch reduces chatter and improves chip evacuation. A ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating provides wear resistance and lubricity, particularly in non-ferrous and aluminum alloys. Machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops or production facilities will recognize this tool as a high-geometry finishing and semi-finishing end mill suited for rigid setups.
This end mill is suited for milling operations requiring a radius corner profile on component features such as floors, walls, and blended transitions. The CoroMill Dura series targets non-ferrous materials and light alloys, indicated by the N1BZ material grade designation. It is a single-end, centercutting tool, allowing plunge entry as well as conventional profiling. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting make it compatible with standard CNC machining center spindle configurations. The straight cylindrical shank at 3/4 inch diameter fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders without special adapters.
