The SANDVIK COROMANT 8037551 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. With a 1/4 inch cutting diameter, 0.875 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius, this tool delivers controlled edge geometry that reduces stress concentration at the cut corner and extends tool life in demanding applications. The ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating improves surface hardness and wear resistance. The 3-flute configuration balances chip evacuation with cutting efficiency, making it well-suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes. It belongs to the CoroMill Dura series and is installed by machinists and CNC operators.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where a corner radius profile is required to blend floor and wall transitions. The 35-degree variable helix and variable index geometry help reduce chatter and vibration, which is beneficial in both roughing and finishing contexts. The right-hand cutting direction and centercutting capability allow plunge entry as well as conventional and climb milling. Material grade N1BZ indicates suitability for non-ferrous and similar workpiece materials. The 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet and end mill holders commonly found in shop environments.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill for use in standard 1/4 inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and compatible CNC or manual milling machine spindles. Material grade N1BZ is associated with non-ferrous workpiece applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention hardware to the machine or holder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each use; do not run a chipped or damaged tool.
