The SANDVIK COROMANT 8037391 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built on the CoroMill Dura series platform, this tool features a 0.5-inch cutting diameter, a 0.03-inch corner radius, and a 5/8-inch length of cut. The 3-flute geometry with variable helix and variable index spacing reduces chatter and improves surface finish in both roughing and finishing passes. Made from H10F carbide grade, it is suited for stable cutting conditions where rigidity and edge retention are priorities. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shops or production environments are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is appropriate for milling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a corner radius profile is required to reduce stress concentration at part corners. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry as well as conventional and climb milling passes. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 0.5-inch shank diameter fits standard end mill holders and collet chucks. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction are standard for conventional CNC milling setups. The bright/uncoated finish makes it suitable for applications where coating adhesion may be a concern or where re-sharpening is anticipated.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills using 1/2-inch straight-cylindrical shank end mill holders or collet chucks. Part of the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroMill Dura series.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and all motion axes locked per shop safety procedures. Ensure the holder bore and shank are clean and free of chips or coolant residue before seating the tool. Torque set screws or collet nuts to the holder manufacturer's specification — do not estimate. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping before initiating a cutting program.
