The SANDVIK COROMANT 8036903 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for demanding milling operations in metal cutting applications. With a 1-inch cutting diameter and 2.5-inch length of cut, it delivers deep-reach material removal in a single pass. The 5-flute geometry paired with a 36-degree variable helix and variable index pitch reduces harmonic vibration, improves chip evacuation, and supports higher feed rates compared to fixed-helix designs. An AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting hardened steels and high-temperature alloys. This tool is intended for use by machinists and tooling professionals in production and job-shop CNC milling environments.
The 8036903 is part of the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroMill Dura series, designed for high-performance peripheral and slotting operations in ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. The 1-inch shank diameter provides rigid coupling to standard CAT, BT, HSK, or shrink-fit toolholders. With a 5-inch overall length and no extended-reach configuration, this end mill is suited for standard-depth milling setups on vertical and horizontal machining centers. Center-cutting capability allows plunge entry. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC spindle rotation.
Part of the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroMill Dura series. Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide end mill for use in standard 1-inch bore milling toolholders on CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with CNC toolholder assembly. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Ensure the shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the toolholder collet or shrink-fit chuck per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for damage before each use; do not run a chipped or worn end mill at full parameters.
