The SANDVIK COROMANT 8035603 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. With a 7/32-inch (0.219-inch) mill diameter and a 0.438-inch length of cut, this single-end tool delivers consistent, clean profiles in hardened and difficult-to-machine materials. The AlTiN coating provides high heat resistance and extended tool life under aggressive cutting conditions. A variable helix and variable index geometry reduce chatter and vibration, improving surface finish and dimensional accuracy. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators working in job shops and production environments rely on this geometry for controlled, repeatable performance.
This end mill is suited for milling slots, pockets, and profiles in ferrous metals, hardened steels, and high-temperature alloys where standard tooling falls short. The 3-flute configuration balances chip evacuation with rigidity, making it effective in both roughing and semi-finishing passes. The 1/4-inch shank diameter fits standard collet and end mill holder setups common across vertical machining centers and CNC mills. It belongs to the CoroMill Dura series, which targets stable, high-productivity cutting in applications where tool deflection and wear are primary concerns.
Part of the Sandvik Coromant CoroMill Dura series. Fits standard 1/4-inch collets and end mill holders used in CNC vertical machining centers and manual mills. Material grade X1BH is optimized for hardened and difficult-to-machine steels.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before changing tooling. Seat the 1/4-inch shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention mechanism to the tool holder specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear on a tight-diameter tool of this size.
