The SANDVIK COROMANT 8035587 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in demanding metalworking applications. The tool measures 3/8 inches in diameter with a 1/2 inch length of cut and features a 0.0180 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, extending tool life in high-load conditions. An AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and hardness at elevated cutting temperatures, making this end mill well-suited for dry or near-dry machining of hardened steels, stainless alloys, and similar difficult-to-machine materials. Installation and use are performed by machinists and CNC tooling specialists in production shop environments.
This end mill fits within the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroMill Dura series, intended for high-performance milling in materials that generate significant heat at the cutting zone. The single-end, centercutting design supports both peripheral and plunge cutting operations. The 3-flute configuration balances chip evacuation and cutting edge strength, making it a practical choice for finishing and semi-finishing passes on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces where corner geometry integrity is critical.
Designed as an OEM-style tooling solution within the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroMill Dura series for use in standard straight-cylindrical 3/8 inch shank tool holders on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is installed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians using a compatible 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical collet or end mill holder. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Confirm runout is within acceptable tolerance after seating the shank, as excessive runout accelerates wear on a solid carbide tool. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and SANDVIK COROMANT cutting data recommendations for feed rate, spindle speed, and depth of cut appropriate to the workpiece material.
